To all the dessert lovers out there, there’s a cosy place to kick back, grab a book and read while eating your favourite dessert and sipping your drink. Located inside Times Bookstore @ Bangsar Shopping Centre, this cafe serves a variety of hot savouries like cornish and quiche to the cool mille crepe cakes. If you happen to be working in the office block next to the shopping centre, they’ll even provide deliveries of these pastries, sandwiches and bakery treats.

Adequately spaced seating and choice for those whom prefer the chairs or the sofas
Comfortable sofa with nice warm lighting for reading
Beautiful mural with some of the cafe’s offering
Just like how the murals are done. Colourfull and cheerful
Fridge with slices of cakes and more cakes and desserts
Bickford old style sodas on display at the counter
Just had to try the Sarsaparilla when I saw it was available. This is of course different from Rootbeer which is much sweeter in taste. In my opinion much prefer these to Coke or Sprite and other soft drinks.
Sarsaparilla and next to it is the Lemon Lime Bitter (RM 7 per bottle)
Latte (RM 6)
These look nearly identical but of course the taste isn’t since the other has coffee added in as well.
Ice Chocolate (RM 7) & Ice Mocha (RM 8)
The nice warm pastries to eat! *Tip – Quiche should be eaten while its warm
The Quiche served here were very savoury. Can’t decide between the two which I liked more because both has its taste. Ingredients inside were plenty as each bite you take you can taste either the sweet taste of the mushroom with onion or the leafy spinach with bits of bacon and not just the custard.
Spinach and Bacon Quiche (RM 9)
Mushroom and Onion Quiche (RM 9)
This pastry has been localised as it uses beef rendang as its filling. Having said that, it gives off a nice aroma when you slice it open and the nice chunky meat goes well when u bite into it. The crust tastes good too.
Beef Rendang Cornish Pasty (RM 9)
Banana & Raisin Bread Pudding with Cream Anglaise (RM 9)
In your first bite, the texture of this cake gives you an airy feel combined with the cream cheese spread and then the taste comes. Its slight bittery taste thanks to the Guinness beer added into the dough when making. Interesting fact, these are one of the cakes that you don’t want to eat super fresh. Leave it for a day and the flavour of the Guiness will intensify giving a more velvety feel.
Guinness Chocolate Cake (RM 9)
This next cake we tried looked like a huge big oreo cookie. Initially I thought it would be crunchy but it was to my surprise soft since the “bun”s are in fact chocolate cake. The filling is a sweet, creamy frosting. If you think these seem large, the New York versions are even larger in size. These cakes are causing quite a scene over in U.S.A.
Whooppie Pie (RM 5)
Here we have Xin showing the proper way on how to eat it. Chomp it down!
Another nice cake which is popular among dessert lovers – Mille Crepe cakes. This is a French dessert whereby the word “mille” means “a thousand” and crepe is a very thin pancake. So as you can see from the images below, many slices are added. Its definitely not a thousand layers of thin pancake but I guess it gives the impression that there are lots of layers in there. In between these layers are filled with different flavours of cream or custard.
